How to Survive Amsterdam Dance Event While Staying Balanced

Amsterdam Dance Event kicks off tomorrow and the city will fill up with DJs from all over the globe, pioneers in the industry and music lovers that are looking for a good night out. If you’re one of these people, you might want to know how to survive this madness while staying balanced and healthy. Or at least as healthy as possible, considering that you probably have a few events on your list that you want to attend.

We've asked personal trainer Gestow Power aka Dj Abstract what his tips are on partying hard and staying healthy.

Squeeze in a workout

If you're not hungover, try to exercise where possible. I'm not talking about a high intensity workout, but something light, just to rest your mind.

Eat and drink well

All that partying makes it difficult to eat healthy, even though it might be tempting, try to avoid that fast snack! Pay attention to your carbs and proteins to get your energy levels up and don't forget your vegetables, vitamins, and minerals.

Try not to drink alcohol on an empty stomach. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after a night out so that you're not dehydrated or feeling woozy the next day. I can't stress this enough, water is definitely an essential.

Snooze enough

Take your well deserved rest after a party, your body needs a minimum of eight hours sleep to recharge itself. Even a quick nap will help rejuvenate your body for the next festivities. The most important thing is to listen to your body.

Take a moment for yourself

ADE can be crazy intense, you see many people, a lot of stimulants and an explosion of energy. So it's recommended to create space for yourself and your thoughts and unload your experiences. For me personally, the gym is the perfect place to do that.
